PRIVATE NON-PROFIT

Center Independent School District is applying for Federal/Title program grants.  President Obama signed the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) into law on December 10, 2015.  ESSA includes provisions that will help to ensure success for students and schools.  These grants require that we inquire of local private schools as whether they wish to receive or reject equitable services for eligible students, teachers, and families from these Title Programs:  Title I, Part A; Title I, Part C-Migrant; Title II, Part A; and Title III LEP, and Title IV, Part A.

If participating in receipt of funds, the Private Non-Profit school will be required to:

  • Provide documentation verifying the enrollment of students in the PNP residing in Center ISD boundaries
  • Provide a needs assessment identifying areas of needs for the students attending the PNP residing within Center ISD boundaries

Please note, if your school chooses to participate in Private Non-Profit Equitable Services, your students will be required to participate in assessments throughout the school year, to provide data on progress.

  • After the consultation, LEA establishes the assessments it will use to measure the effectiveness against the agreed-upon standards.
  • May use the State assessment or another assessment that is aligned to the agreed-upon standards.
  • All participants are assessed at least annually, including children receiving non-academic services.

If you have met requirements and would like to participate, please call (936)598-1501, ext. 2707.  We will set up a general information meeting and begin consultation for the 2023-2024 school year.  Please respond by April 26, 2023.

Sincerely,
Inez Hughes
