FLEX Professional Development 2023-2024

What is Flexible Professional Development (PD)?

Flexible PD is training completed while OFF contract or regular scheduled work hours. The time worked is then applied for the designated Flex Days on the school calendar. 

Flex Days for 2023-2024 Calendar

October 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and March 29th

(6 hours per day = 36 required hours total)

Flex PD Hours Breakdown:

2023-2024 Required Training (25 Hours Total)

Eduhero courses for 2023-2024 will be available beginning July 1, 2023. Courses in Eduhero completed prior to this date will not count for FLEX PD. 

In EduHero you will see two different plans for the 2023-2024 school year.

• 2023-2024 Required Trainings – 1 (20 courses = 20 hours)
• 2023-2024 Required Trainings – 2 (5 courses = 5 hours)

All Center ISD employees working 187,197, 207, and 226 days are to complete ALL 25 courses in these plans. 

These required hours must be completed by midnight on August 13th. 

Additional 11 Training Hours

How to get the additional 11 Flex Hours?

1. Select other courses outside the district required plans in EduHero to complete. 
2. Some campus/departments have set up training during the summer that can be counted for FLEX PD. Check with your Principal/Supervisor for options that may be applicable to you. 
3. Hours may be obtained at a Regional Service Center with prior approval from your Principal/Supervisor. Hours pre-approved at RSCs can be counted if earned beginning as early as May 30^th.
4. Any hours requested that are outside of a Regional Service Center must be pre-approved by Assistant Superintendent, Jake Henson (Jake.Henson@centerisd.org).
   
   

Hours completed OUTSIDE of Eduhero

For documentation purposes, each time you complete a course outside of EduHero you will need to upload a PDF of your certificate into the Flex PD Form. Please do not upload your Eduhero certificates.

The additional 11 hours are due by midnight on October 15, 2023.

How to get started: 

All of these courses should be completed off-contract, so they count towards your Flexible PD hours. Please remember that EduHero documents the date(s) and time(s) of activity within a course.  

1. Register: Go to www.eduhero.net or click here to register. You must use a district email address to access the Center ISD plans.
2. Verify: Check your email and verify account (check spam/junk mail)
3. Login: During your initial login you are required to select your campus and password retrieval question. Please complete all other options to build your CISD profile.
4. Course progress, district plans, and certificates can be found under the green "Learning" tab, then click the "Plans" tab.
